Protecting the welfare of children.

Develop Her Game Ltd - Safeguarding Statement

Develop Her Game Ltd is committed to safeguarding and has an extensive policy in place. To ensure that the welfare of the girls who participate in our coaching activities is safeguarded as far as reasonably possible. We expect all of our coaches to share this commitment and believe that they all have a responsibility to report any concerns about the welfare of any child or young adult.

We are committed to ensuring that:

  • The safety and welfare of children and young people at risk whilst under our care is paramount;

  • All children and young people at risk that engage with the Develop Her Game’s Coaching activities, regardless of age, culture, background, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious belief and or sexual identity have the right to safety and protection from abuse or harm;

  • All suspicions, reports and/or allegations of abuse are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly which may involve the appropriate local authority teams & emergency services where necessary;

  • Appropriate action is taken if/when necessary following any investigation of reported poor practice.

We do this by:

  • Working hard to ensure we recruit the right people to be involved with our work

  • Ensure we train and monitor all coaches to ensure they exhibit the right behaviours

  • Have clear processes in place to deal with any incident, concerns or allegations

All coaches who come into regular contact with children or young adults are subjected to enhanced DBS checks, prior to employment, which are placed on the update service. Develop Her Game also adhere to policies, regulations and guidance issued by the appropriate external agencies and work closely the NSPCC and Local Authority Safeguarding Boards. Our safeguarding policies and procedures are created from guidelines from the FA and other relevant professional bodies and meet all current legislation and best practice guidelines.
